Another vote for The Azores. I went there in 1995 having sailed there from Bermuda. First landfall was Flores which I think is the Westernmost island and is (was) just lovely. Unspoilt, or it was then, and a really picturesque island. Then moved on to Horta on Faial which was also really lovely. Great islands and very pleasant people. Can’t recommend it highly enough and if you can get to Flores then it’s definitely worth it.
