LHR just takes lots of time to go through, even in the best of times…..
The biggest difference is that LHR is just a slow process…..I can get through DOH in probably 1/3 to 1/2 the time it takes to go through LHR.
The issue is the slow security screening, random security luggage checks, liquid size rules, distance need to walk, and long bus transfers between terminals….
LHR is just built inefficiently with inefficient systems in place that ultimately make the connections take so long…
Not the worst out there, but far from

It takes me about 25 minutes from leaving the aircraft in t5 to being in departures in T3
Its about 10 minutes t5 to t5
in doh i can be that long on the bus from the aircraft to the terminal.
I do not find doh better or worse than lhr t5 to t5
The fast track security experience may be better, the lounges may feel more luxurious, the experience at the C bus gate area at 1 am on the other hand....
