I have been P1 for 10 years. The benefits are not really worth chasing unless your overall flying patterns get you close.
By far the best benefit is the ability to have a human release a premium cabin Award seat for you.
I have taken advantage of this many times. Most recently getting an F Award LHR-SYD just before Xmas this year.
Platinum would have next to no chance via the droid.
