For the MAX/223, I've been told to raise mine (return to the default position) on landing more than once. Exactly the same number of times I've had it lowered just before landing, actually. But this has not been more than maybe 3 times.

I've never noticed any other PAX figuring this out.

For other types, in J, narrowbodies I try for the left side, and they don't move. In back, I've had them ask me to lower them (return to the default position) again, maybe 3 times, and again, the same number of times it wasn't in the default position.
