The ITA flights from FCO to IAD and YYZ are now seasonal, ending in late October, and resuming in March.

I was booked from IAD to FCO round in November (using Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles). ITA did cancel with 60+ days notice. I just didn't see the alert until recently.

Now, in working together with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and ITA, it sounds like the only possibility is for me to cancel and have my miles refunded, then deal with getting a new ticket myself:

• Virgin Atlantic can't rebook me onto a one-stop via Delta/AF/KLM unless there's partner award space (which there is not). Even if so, it could trigger a reprice
• Virgin Atlantic can't rebook me onto the JFK-FCO ITA flight unless there is partner award space (which there is not) e.g. no ability to book into other fare classes on ITA
• I called ITA and they cannot do anything for travel agency reservations (including those booked via Virgin Atlantic)
  • I asked ITA if they can open up more economy award space JFK-FCO while I also have Virgin Atlantic on the line. The call center agent cannot

Too bad. The only difference with having the Virgin Atlantic agent cancel due to flight being canceled (vs. if I self-canceled while the route still exists) is that I get both my miles and my taxes/fees back.
