1. I'm mostly flying and want to use miles my GF has in her FB account.
2. I've flown on AF and credited some flights to FB a couple of years ago (not too much though)
3. Her account never got any flights credited.
4. Her miles are coming from credit card transfers
5. We have the same address (although hers is not "validated" so not sure how much that has value).
I'm in no rush to use these miles, so it can be in a year if needed. The accounts are connected in a family account but I have not tried to transfer yet.
When booking for myself, is it safer to book in my account after doing a family member transfer from her (vs. booking under her account)?
Based on what you've written, you probably should be in a rush.
Simply going on what you've written (a few miles credited to your FB a "couple of years ago") - which of course may not be the most accurate assessment of your account - your miles (or at least a part thereof - that part being all miles present in your FB account prior to, or earned during, your last recorded flight) are likely to expire any moment; FB miles expire 24 months after earning without any subsequent overall-extending activity (i.e. 24 months after your last recorded XP-earning flight).
Flying Blue accounts are NOT a good place to store miles indefinitely, when you fly so infrequently on Skyteam airlines. You should look to use up these miles ASAP, or start to credit the occasional Skyteam flight until such time as you can wind down your account in a beneficial manner.
