Hotels increasingly do everything they can to duck and dodge every benefit, every perk, every supposed requirement of getting the benefits of being flagged as a Hyatt, and Hyatt, like an abused spouse, does absolutely nothing and acts like the hotels are doing them a favor by being flagged Hyatt.
Same with Marriott, man. I am keeping Bonvoy Platinum (courtesy of the Amex Brilliant CC) as a backup simply due to their wide geographical coverage worldwide. HOwever, I have mostly been using Amex FHR now. It's so much better; there is no comparison. A huge difference is that most hotels don't play games with FHR; they duitfully provide exactly what's stated, sometimes even more. THAT makes me feel valued as a customer - AND it's a win-win situation for everyone involved - the hotel, Amex, and the customer.
