The reason that people might think that you're silly for looking for awards for this December is that December is possibly the month with the highest demand for award space because of the holidays. Qatar award space is hard to come by to start with, but the idea that you might be able to find award space in December only 1½-2 months before your travel date is, IMO, laughable. Nothing wrong with looking, -- do let us know if you're able to find it.
