Came back for our second stay midweek last week, and things were more or less similar. Didn't get upgraded to a suite as Globalist, but got upgraded the same lakeview queen we'd gotten the previous weekend. Still a nice room with nice views.
Thanks for the nearby dinner recommendations, the circumstances of our trip didn’t allow us to try any of them this time, but I’m sure we’ll be back.
The only things worth mentioning as far as updates were:
- It looks like the breakfast menu on weekends is more expansive on weekdays. Our favorite weekend item was a mushroom scramble, and it seems to be weekend only, along with a few other items. Breakfast service was also a bit slow. We gave ourselves an hour both mornings, and barely got out of there in time both days. I'd suggest ordering ahead or trying for something to go if you're in any kind of a hurry.
- We brought an EV on this trip, and EV charging is available, but a bit odd. With free globalist parking, you have the option of Valet or Self-Parking. The Valet explained that they weren't allowed to plug in chargers for guests, though if we wanted, he'd be happy to park in front of one in the garage, but I'd have to then go down and plug it in. That seemed silly, so we just self-parked in the garage across the street from the hotel. The garage was mostly empty (I think it's shared with neighboring businesses and apartments) - and there were plenty of unusued EV charging spots. However, the night we got there many of them were "offline" and wouldn't start a charge (the front desk seemed to be having internet problems as well, so maybe this was related). The charging was free (with the parking fee) - but all had signage saying they were limited to 2-hours of charging. However, we found one further away from the hotel's entrance that was working and online, and were able to successfully charge all night overnight during both nights of our stay. We had to use the Shell Recharge App to initiate the charge. Other users in the PlugShare app reported getting cut off after two hours, so I don't know if that's related to the individual charger we chose, the time of day, or if we just got lucky.
