How butchered was the seat mechanism after all the ever increasing stress and overpushing from frustrated pax, it got in its further and further impaired and weakened condition, by the time mechanics finally got to really service it?

To the seat, an out of order sign would have been a refreshing blessing.

And with fewer and fewer actual F fares being bought ...

The reason why the business class business model is not working for airlines is that fewer and fewer businesses are flying their business men and business women on business trips in business class.
