I would have to agree.
T5 to T5 is excellent and works very well.
But the land-side transfer experience is farcical. It took me nearly 50 mins to get from T4 to T5 using the underground last week and that hotel hoppa bus can only be described as pathetic.
In most cases the Hotel Hoppa can be avoided by using cheaper and more frequent TfL services.
Also TfL buses are the best way to get landside between T4 and T5
