More importantly, are you stating that you use US AT&T, switch to a SIM/eSIM when traveling outside US, turn on wifi calling and still receive SMS to your US # without the $10/day AT&T charge?
I have it set up to send messages to my google voice (which is one reason I like cap1, as not all card issuers allow such numbers). So, no issues with wifi, change of sim or anything else like that.
