You should be able to update your number via. the contact centres.

One caveat is that even with an updated number on BA's system, the texting an old number is still an ongoing issue. I've been having the exact same issue for two weeks now. I updated my mobile number back in January of this year, and promptly updated it on BA's end, removing the old one.

Now, my laptop is persisting in asking for a code sent to my old number. I can still login to BA via the app and another computer in the house, but BA (and the data protection officer) have no idea what to do as they claim "this number does not exist on our systems or any database". They're mute on the question; "So why is it trying to text this old number if you no longer have it saved?".

I wager its just a case of something going on behind the scenes with the new website build but it does make you think what a sheer mess their back end systems must be in if their own data protection staff can't see, fix or update incorrect information (easily).
