Ok, so I have an answer from here. You earn 1 tier point every 2 regular points on Star Alliance flights. Which is a very low rate in my opinion, but oh well.

Of course, the phone agents didn’t know. They kept telling me it’ll be 6 tier points every INR 100 I spend. On being asked how they will know how much I spent on Thai Airways, I was told that tier points will only be available to earn on Air India flights.


All this being said, jasepl’s screenshot above highlights something entirely different with LX flights. Tier points earned are actually 38% of the regular FR points in the above screenshot. This makes me wonder if the 1 TP every 2 FR points is a recent development, and didn’t exist when those LX flights were flown?
