What good could possibly have come from it? Media might be OK if you're trying to gain customers, but why talk to the media about edge cases like this? Mainstream media is not your friend and is very unlikely to make you look good.
It's like blabbing to the WSJ about dollar coins. Everyone was enjoying it just fine until that broke it.
