CoS almost denied, how would you handle?

I'm 6'4, 300lb, ALP. Have been booking an extra seat using the CoS policy for a while, using points for the extra seat. Lately there has been a bug in the system where my last several XS reservations have not been linked to my main reservation, requiring a chat with the gate agent to print the extra seat. For a few years now, I've only had one agent briefly question if I needed it (a few months ago), then decide it was OK.

Last week, same situation, early flight. I walk up to desk, 2 agents, male and female. I wait for someone to look up and the male does so I slide over to him. Explain the situation and he immediately starts working on it. After a minute, the female agent says "he doesn't need an extra seat". I crack a joke "thank you, must be a skinny day", male agent laughs and female says she's going to get a supervisor. Supervisor comes over, doesn't make eye contact with me, but starts helping male agent. He then asks if I need it. I recite my physical stats, say I haven't had any issues before and he proceeds helping the male agent. I get the ticket and move into the boarding line.

The 3 of them then huddle up and discuss it while staring at me from the desk. I board the flight and supervisor comes onto the plane going up and down the aisle giving instructions. He actually pauses at my row to say put something under the seat. I look at him with a "see I told you so" expression crammed into my seat, he seems satisfied and moves on.

My question is how would you handle this in the future? Is there something I could have done or said in that situation or perhaps in the future to avoid this? Thankfully I've always been a big guy and am not sensitive, however can imagine this being embarrassing for someone else. Thanks in advance.
