AA doesn't track BIS miles, they lump together miles earned from all sources in their lifetime calculations, which is also why they don't offer any lifetime elite status higher than Platinum.
It's very clear that the 37M is accrued miles, not BIS miles.
But back onto topic, very sad if UA found a loophole to cancel Tom's pass. Not understanding why cancellation would be due to a disclosure when the pass had no disclosure restrictions.
But this just proves once again that it's never worth talking to the media about things like this. No good can possibly come out of it.
