I was surprised to see this menu ,as I thought it had started in August (I could be wrong) and that there'd be a new one in October. Maybe that's why no-one has written about it. It's my least favourite recent menu (allergies and intolerances) but the crew were all excellent and made sure I could get the choices I wanted. I have photos of the Chef's Chat sheet, so give me a shout if you want to know about allergens, otherwise I plan (with mods permission) to start a new thread about that.
My starter (beetroot and pearl barley salad) had no trace or taste of feta. My partner's did - visible bits of it. So the quality is inconsistent. It was pleasant but, without feta, a bit bland.
The main (salmon) was good. Fish seems to work well in the air.
The side salad did actually contain the advertised mozzarella (it's a long time since the advertised cheese has turned up in any of my salads). A bit bland despite the pesto.
Dessert (chocolate lava cake) was very dense. I didn't request cheese due to the presence of nuts. My partner's pistachio mousse contained no pistachios as far as he could tell (he loves pistachios), and was apparently more like a lemon mousse.
Breakfast (the fruit was melon/pineapple) was good. No bread was offered; the selection of warm breads and breakfast pastries consisted of a small croissant for everyone. Due to the croissant not being listed in the Chef's Chat sheet, the crew were thoughtfully reluctant to serve it to me, and went off in search of a lovely warm bread roll from another cabin. That turned out to be perfect for making a bacon sandwich. I would personally prefer bread to a croissant any day of the week.
The crew were very efficient, champagne was served before take-off, and drink top-ups were proactively offered.
