Air India Flying Returns: tier points on *A airlines

Now that UK and AI are merging and Flying Returns recently “reinvented” itself (and seems like it will further reinvent itself to Maharaja Club once the UK merger is complete), how do tier points actually work when flying on a partner airline?

Currently, there is only clarity on how tier points work on AI flights: every INR 100 spent on an AI ticket earns 6 tier points. The Flying Returns FAQs are surprisingly thorough, but still do not answer the question. The only thing mentioned is that you will earn tier points on *A flights, just not how much.

Admittedly, as a newly minted AI*G I ought to know this, but I got to silver by crediting only my AI flights to Flying Returns, and then the SK status match bumped me to gold. Until now I was crediting my non Air India *A flights to TK but now considering switching to crediting to AI for all flights.

I’m flying BOM-BKK-HND later this week. It’s booked in Z class on TG, which earns 125% on Air India. I’m flying a round trip: the GCMap distance of the outbound + inbound is 4,737 miles x 2 = 9,474 miles.

In this case, I’ll be earning 9,474 * 1.25 = 11,842 regular points. Would I also earn the same amount of tier points? Or would AI somehow figure out how much I paid for these flights and use the 6 tier points per INR 100 calculation here?
