Name of the hotel: Novotel Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil
- What is your ALL status?
Platinum
- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. The hotel was a stopover to break up an otherwise very long drive, but it exceeded my expectations.
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Superior room with queen-size bed was
upgraded to a suite
- How are the rooms?
The suite was pretty spacious on a high floor (top floor, 6th floor). It was equipped with a sofa, table and 4 chairs, desk, gigantic bed, separate toilet and fully equipped bathroom with shower, water jet bathtub and toilet.
- What was good and what was bad?
Good: The pool area and pool was open until 10pm, including pool bar. There was plenty of space to sit down comfortably around the pool and enjoy a drink or some food. The bartender served at the table, and was pretty reactive to serve another beer when looking his way when the current beer was empty.
As is usual with most of my Accor hotel stays in Brazil, there's valet parking. It was priced the same as my stay in an Ibis earlier this trip (20 BRL / 24h).
Bad: The restaurant is being reformed to a BASE steakhouse (was a 365 bar before) so the breakfast is currently being served in a room otherwise used as convention / meeting room. A-la-carte food can be ordered as room service or poolside. I ordered a burger which was decent.
- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
No lounge
- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks?
a brown paper bag was handed during check-in. It contained some kind of cheese flavored crackers and coconut water. A can of still water was in the room free of charge.
- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
I paid €61 for a single night, but used 2000 reward points bringing the total cost for the stay down to 21 euro. Well worth the money, and I wish I could have spent an additional day here as the hotel exceeded my expectations. If I need to bridge a few days between stays around Sao Paulo, I'll remember thisone as a good place to stay.
