Only had dinner at Kyoymato, it is good but not WOW, not meh, never try lunch. Will not try again because so many good restaurants in Kyoto and dining in Kyoymato does not earn Hyatt points.
Yasaka is also good and not Michelin star, even better than Kyoymato. The view is also best. We had dinner there three times and never regret.
Spa is good. But that is personal opinion, especially for massage.
Lots lots of good restaurants in Kyoto but sometimes we tired and preferred onsite ones.

Quick question: Did anyone enjoy lunch at Kyoymato? How does it compare to breakfast—“mouthwatering marvel” or “meh, pass the toast”? I’ll be staying as GOG, so I know about the 3K breakfast upcharge.
Also, has anyone dined at Yasaka? Is it a “must-try” or a “meh”? As a staying guest, what are my chances of snagging a last-minute reservation? I can’t book in advance due to my unpredictable arrival from Tokyo.
Any nearby restaurant recommendations that don’t require reservations? Should I expect to snag a table, or is it better to head to Kyoto Station for more options? I’m not chasing Michelin stars—just looking for tasty eats! I have a flexible budget for dinner, but I prefer not to overspend on mediocre food. I’m not a fan of noodles (ramen/soba/udon) since I eat those all the time, so I’d love to focus on sushi, sashimi and matsusaka/hida/yonezawa beef and seasonal dishes such as zuwaigani/hairy crab/uni—especially things that are much cheaper in Japan compared to the States. Just a bit of background: I've had the pleasure of enjoying kaiseki meals as I often have them at onsens, so I’m not specifically looking for the Kyoto experience. I’m really looking forward to making memories at PHK with my senior parents, who have limited mobility and are particular about their food preferences.
Lastly, any reviews on the spa services or the Kyoto rickshaw ride?
Thanks for the tasty insights and deets, everyone! Cheers!
