Hop has added 10 seats to their E190 and added a FA also because of that. Right now it's the exact same seat as before so it's very cramped in J especially when you have a person next to you (just unacceptable in J). But starting early next year, they will block the seat next to you in J, have a new seat (I was told similar to the 220 seat), have free starlink on board and also have an oven in front galley to warm up the bread, in order to "harmonize the intra-EU experience across AF flights". So while it is overall a positive development, right now flying those reconfigured 190 is a nightmare which I commented many times to the chef de cabine. 10 more pax onboard, less storage space, less legroom for the same uncomfortable seat, so basically cattle class for business class fares. They have also removed the very convenient wardrobe which gives problem to find overhead bin space when boarding towards the end. After chatting with the friendly chef de cabine on board a recent CDG-DUS, he awarded me a mere 8000 miles compensation for the trouble (the seat next to me was initially supposed to be free at 30 min before departure, but they shuffled the entire cabin to fit 2 AF staff members in J it seems. Complaining to the customer service with a dutch address results in nothing else but apologies. Next time I will try with my french address as I recently experienced that the customer service is a different class for sure with the french CS - platinum team.
