Walking around the HR after 8 PM or so if probably somewhat unsafe. Due to the low cost of Uber, no need to chance it.
I haven't taken the hop-on/hop-off bus in quite some time, but keep in mind their stop on Long St near Green Market Square is a crime hotspot. Of course, I've walked there in the past but it is considered somewhat unsafe even during daytime. Most other stops of the bus are generally fine during daytime.
