Booked Queen Bed Standard; received Queen Bed Premium

How are the rooms?
Generally really nice. The common areas of the hotel have been recently refurbished and even feature the new HI signage. The corridors to the rooms look very dull in comparison. The rooms themselves have been refurbished to a good standard but bathrooms have just had a little refresh. Only USB-A socket by the bed.
The Premium room included complimentary mini-bar, including beer, wine, Kit-Kats, soft drinks, etc.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Really nice breakfast in the open lobby. Evening meal was good, although they were out of some items on the menu and seemed to want payment by card (rather than charging to room). Very comfortable room and modern public spaces (other than corridors).

Bad:
I did not receive the correct points based on what I spent (about 10% less). Reception was very slow at check-in but excellent at check-out and when dealing with car parking later. Gatwick Hoppa bus is £8 return to get to the airport.

Value for $ or IHG Points? Would you return?
Stayed here a few times in the past but not since it has been renovated. Think they’ve done a really good job and the parking inclusive package I booked was good value. Would return
