I always get confused on how this works, so help refresh. I booked the following trip:
- OW flight on UA, SFO-XXX where XXX is domestic, paid for fully using United travel credit
- 3 nights hotel, to be paid to hotel directly on departure, but guaranteed to CSR - refundable until 2 days before initial arrival date
- OW flight XXX-SFO, paid for primarily with leftover travel credit from above, but ~$25 remaining balance on CSR.
I assume I’d pretty much have full coverage for return flight (for trip delay), as well as coverage for hotel if we have to cancel for a covered reason, say day before scheduled departure. However, am I right to think I’d have no trip delay coverage for outbound? Not super concerned about trip cancelation/interruption for flights, as these are regular economy fares so there is no change/cancel fee and I travel UA enough to not have issues using FFCs before expiry.
Am I remembering correctly?
