I have a question on connecting in CLT. I am leaving with my spouse for a quick vacation on the day after Thanksgiving (Not ideal date to travel I know). I have two, what feel to me, bad options.
Leave PHL (home airport) on a 4:30PM flight to to SAN - doesn't get in until 7:30 PM - not awesome, would really like to be there much earlier in the day, but that is the first non-stop.
Go PHL-->CLT-->SAN leaving at 6:15 and getting in at 11:08 AM (Much prefer that arrival time)

The issue is that CLT connection is only 48 minutes.

If this were a work trip, or a longer trip (Weekend at the Del in San Diego), i'd take the risk, but a 'miss' on the connection would likely yield sitting in the back across the country or a longer delay.

So want your all regular CLT flyers thought on 48 minute connection time (We will be in F) on what's likely the worst day of the year because of all the non-routine travelers. I have only been through CLT rarely and it's always been a zoo.
