I've searched and can only find one old thread for one HIX in Lisbon and I don't think each HIX deserves its own [MASTER THREAD] so having stayed at four HIXs in Portugal I'll start off this thread for the country and see if anyone is interested. I actually quite like the brand so far because it's cheap and everyone gets the basic breakfast irrespective of IHG status. OTOH I'm sure many Flyertalkers avoid HIXs for the exact same reasons. I have been chasing points to be Diamond so I can select breakfast at better hotels through 2025 and HIXs are ideal for this because buying additional points can be cheap. For example I bought 5000 additional points for just €18 per night at Évora so a €250 weekend break got me 12,661 qualifying points and 17,257 points including some bonuses which does bring the effective net rate down to a bargain.

Every HIX I've stayed at in three countries has had clean and functional rooms and the main variance seems to be the quality of breakfast which can go from pretty good to inedible. Anyway, following are four HIXs I've stayed at in Portugal so far.
