I just looked at Scandic friends levels matrix and one needs to have 250.000 pointd to get free breakfast included. In DKK that means i would have to spend 80.000-90.000 a year to get that benefit with a quick calculation staying at Danish hotels 🤯 (please tell me im wrong).
With Strawberries its included in the price and on top of that the benefits are much stronger, plus elite flexibility is second to none, with same day cancellation until 21:00 without penalties.
I can concur with upgrades at Strawberry as Gold. I mainly stay in Sweden and I am basically always upgraded and more importantly at the properties where i care about it.

Besides of that when i think of Scandic I get this stale feeling of eastern europe hotels in the nineties. Probably why i never stay there.
