My guess is that the status matching will take place on Jan. 1st to coincide with all the Mileage Plan changes that begin on that same date. For the HA elites, this will be significant since they will become eligible for complimentary elite upgrades on every AS flight regardless of flight length or destination, but for us AS elites flying HA, we basically only get complimentary elite upgrades on inter-island flights and (maybe?) extra legroom seats in Y although I thought I read in another thread that the seats don't become available until T-24 so yeah...l don't feel like I need to be counting the days til status matching happens...lol.
