This has been discussed many times. On BA, baggage loading is managed by barcode, based on ticketed cabin only. Tags or labels are to make people feel better about themselves, but do not offer any override or special treatment.
Not doubting this, however many years ago when I was Bronze, checking in at T3 (travelling Y) I printed a self service bag tag which had PRIORITY printed on it. It made no difference, but someone obviously coded this…
