My guess is, dollar per dollar, WoH is handing out more valuable points from those AA business class tickets than AA handing out useless miles on paid Park Hyatt suites. Granted, the assumption is that there is some form of compensation behind this, so AA bean counters probably flagged this as a way to reduce cost.
