This is an overall devaluation for those of us who are already PlatPro/EXP.

Will the AA membership card in the app temporarily change for a day to reflect the higher status? Or will it all only be in AA's computers? Also, if I am elite for a day, can I make seat selections for flights on future dates for free?
As someone who have redeemed AA miles for the elite for a day for a friend, it is only good for AA operated flights, and only valid to access AA lounges (Admirals Club and Flagship for Platinum), along with free checked baggage and Group 3 boarding. The Main Cabin Extra/Preferred Seat selection is is delivered via coupons, which you must redeem with 2 days of using the award and select those seats. The overall benefit is only available 7 or more days in advance (cannot be used on a last minute trip).
