I have booked outgoing award to AUH using AA miles on Etihad but can't find a decent return DXB or AUH to ORD return flight on Jan 3 or 4 for three people? I am looking for coach and I have AA, UA miles and some BA and Alaska miles and UR points. The cheapest I get when searched on bilt.point.me or awardtool is 140k UA miles per person.
Should I keep my outgoing flight and hotel awards and keep searching for the return flight everyday for the next 30 days or cancel the planned trip? I know the return is very expensive because of the busy holiday peak season.
