Flying from New York to Tucson next week. Was originally scheduled to connect through PHX, however I got a little bored and looked for a more exciting option. Ended up switching to JFK-LAX-TUS for transcon F with a 53min connection. Thought it would be easy enough as the JFK-LAX is usually on time or early (first flight of the day)

Unfortunately I completely forgot about the Eagles Nest, and it looks like that’s where the TUS flight leaves from.
So if my inbound is on time, what are the odds I make this connection?
I wouldn’t mind ponying up for 5star if it means it greatly increases my chances. Thoughts?
As others said, it's doable. It's really a roll of the dice. The winds can be mild and you have a gate upon arrival, or the winds can be strong and you have to wait for a gate (or otherwise land on the north complex). If you need to be in TUS then I'd change your flight, but with FF going by the wayside I'd say it's definitely worth the risk over a recliner.
