As I traveled around Europe this spring and the US this fall, I stayed in a lot of different Hilton brands and a few independent hotels. The one thing I have noticed is the switch to refillable toiletries was universal. Every hotel (and the VRBO's) made the switch.
Sometimes they might have a bar of hand soap by the sink to wash your hands, but bath soap bars seem to be gone. It doesn't bother me in the least as I prefer liquid body wash.
But it shows us that the hotel industry can turn on a dime and quickly implement something consistently across all their properties worldwide if they really want to. While I know it probably took longer than it seemed, it sure seemed like it all happened practically overnight.
