Unlike most of the other posters, I would take the 70k miles. You can buy an extra 5k miles during a promo for around £100, so then you have a EU-East Africa (SEZ, DAR, ZNZ etc.) in J one-way with EK (or ET, LH, LX etc.). Obviously, if you wouldn't have a desire to visit East Africa or the middle east then it would be best to take the money but EU-SEZ in EK J for effectively 500EUR plus tax seems like a good deal.
