When this sort of thing happens, check in this forum before buying a new ticket or anything drastic like that, it really should not be necessary. As mentioned in the Disruption signposts thread, it is easy to make mistakes when rushing unnecessarily (e.g. cancelling a ticket....) and removing your consumer rights in the process.
The hotel will be chargeable, and transfers between LGW and LHR will be refunded. Personally I think it's best to use the coach service, but BA will pay taxis if it's early or late.
This is an aircraft shortage issue, so TECY.
