I had no idea, thank you! This explains why I recently received quite a big sum of 150 MQDs for my 15.000 miles award ticket. Great!
As for the PENDING earning not showing, in my experience only flights bought on Delta will show. Not those bought on AF/KL an others. But they will count, sometimes it may take up to 2 weeks. I agree that is is a hassle and it takes some counting and some guessing to figure out how much MQD you earn. I do not like this new system. I constantly have to look what booking class I am buying and it it earns 5 % or 10 % of MQD and then figure out how much it actually is -- based on comparing with my previous earnings. To me, the new system is not transparent at all and it is rather demotivating.
