Swanhunter I personally like the northern part. The high points for me were also the canyon and God's Window. And if you start (or end) the part your itinerary that includes this area in general, you are very close to the Hoedspruit airport.
But I am sure you can find completely different viewpoints on the Panoramic route. I am sure that there are plenty who want to spend a number days doing the entire route as a elf drive and a major part of their visit to South Africa.
Some forums claim that Drakensberg is (way much) better than the Panorama Route. But can it be included if a 2 loops basic tour is done around the Kruger (i.e. excluding Blyde River) and Cape Town and around?
Of course those are simple questions, nothing is excluded at that point - ultimately, she will still have her word to say on the final itinerary ... but I prefer to anticipate
