I would recommend having your advisor look into reservations, or making them yourself with concierge prior to arrival. Their venues fill up quickly, especially COTE steakhouse. However, the highlight for me was their Thai restaurant, Phra Nakhon. Perhaps some of the best Thai I've had in Bangkok, really phenomenal. The Pomelo Salad, Crab curry and the Larb Moo were just sensational. All dishes made fresh and service was top notch. Shout out to the F&B manager Joy, she was fabulous and took great care of us.
The living room was a lovely space to enjoy in the late afternoons for complimentary tea/coffee, champagne, cockatils, mocktails .
I think I still love The Siam a bit more for the intimate human-aspect of the hotel. Sense of place too. I feel like I am in Thailand when I am at The Siam, whereas with Capella, I felt like I could be at a FS-ish 5 star hotel anywhere. Although... the floor to ceiling views of the Chao Phraya are noteworthy! (but can they pls clean the windows more often? Seems they do not clean them very often...... for both FS & Capella... )
I really liked the Capella. I'm usually a fan of the "modern" FS look and must say that the Capella looked a lot like a FS, but with more "personality" (turndown gift, free cocktails during happy hour, free soft drinks, culturist).
The terrace rooms (I forgot the exact name) are really a game changer. It's amazing to have a little oasis in the middle of a big and buzzing city.
Capella BKK made me discover other Capella properties and I think it's quickly becoming one of my favourite brands. Capella Hanoi is amazing.
