Sounds like there's nothing to be "fixed" - they are up 280K points!

A similar thing happened to me at Hilton Sofia - I checked out early morning (around 03:45) on a reward stay.

The stay posted as a Late Cancel, so I received the points back in my account, but also received the 1,000 MyWay points for the stay...
