Got it. One other question, and this may be a lack of understanding on my part, but on both Day 1 and Day 2, Flight 1 (intra-Europe) + Flight 2 (CDG-East Coast USA) price out at not the lowest price of 50k miles in J, but 56k miles. I had assumed that meant I could take Flight 1 on Day 1 + Flight 2 on Day 2 for 56k as well, but the phone rep mentioned that if there's not a certain fare class (O I believe, which neither flight had), then they don't do free stopovers and just do the sum of the separate costs of Flight 1 and Flight 2
