All kidding aside, you could argue that this is one of the commercial reasons for SQ to have the PPS program in the first place — to encourage folks to spend $$$ on their premium seats.
That and their route network which helps, prioritising high yield (some would say vanilla) destinations, particularly for long haul.

Agree, also more generally for OWE, where these do occur more often.
I haven’t had much luck on LH Group as well where the best I got was op up to Intra Europe J (this has happened twice in my flying with them).
Still I always expect to fly in the class I booked.
