There are lots of great places to visit in the world, and yes, prices in Hawaii are often out of hand, but our most recent trip we were able to enjoy . . .

1. Beachfront condo at Hapuna with sound of the surf and full access to Mauna Kea amenities, including one of the nicer beaches in the world (with added bonus of 24k extra Marriott points for booking through Bonvoy Homes & Villas);

2. A bunch of excellent meals on the big island, including a fantastic dinner at Merriman's and really outstanding bbq at The Fish & The Hog (and super friendly service at both);

3. An overnight and full day in Honolulu, where we were able to partake of Leonard's incomparable malasadas, and a day at the north shore, which included lots of turtle sightings and a very chill time at Mokuleia beach;

4. Flight out in AS F for $279, upgraded using GGU, return on UA 77W in lie-flat J for reasonable price in miles.

We can't wait to go back.
