Yes this is correct but usually the AF being due and it being 30 days after AF posted is not very far apart (perhaps about a week or so?). Should be enough time to buy today if you have something that ships immediately since that's important.
Either way this credit will post even after you close the card, search this thread and you'll see it's been done including by yours truly.
