Hmm I'm in a bit of a predicament - it looks like I am on track to finish the year with about 120-140k SQM, but only $2k SQD. Quite the change after almost a decade at 75k/SE.
I also have 82k EDQ.
If I earn 100k EDQ, I would qualify for 25k and therefore SQM rollover - is that right? (or does anybody know whether rollover doesn't apply for 25k-earned-through-EDQ)
Or alternatively I could earn $1k SQD to qualify for 25k with a quick LHR-YYZ ... or maybe by trying out AC's fifth freedom service to India. This is less appealing considering everything ex-LHR is R0.
It feels like the best goal is to only hit 25k. Next year my travel will return to be very Air Canada-centric once again, so I will requalify for higher status quickly, especially if I can roll over 100k+ SQM. And that higher status will apply until end-2026 vs. end-2025 for anything I earn now.
Is my thought process sound? Any thoughts/opinions?
