Plenty of properties out there that do not accept cash. Unless you live in a jurisdiction where some type of law or ordinance has been passed, not accepting cash is perfectly legal. I can tell you firsthand that certain management companies (Aimbridge) are more than fine with any of their locations going cashless and Hilton for over two years has an entire best practice guide as to how any of their non-resort properties are allowed to go cashless anytime.
But if they don't accept cash, then the credit card use is for
their convenience. They should pay the 3% Convenience Fee.
The Airport Convenience Fee is pure garbage. Hotel rates are, and always have been, differentiated by location.
