By accident, due to unplanned work trips, I've attained bronze status this year. I'm now 220 tier points short of silver.
As I understand it I will be bronze now until April 2026. But to get to silver next year I will need 600 points. Where as if I get 220 before then I will be silver for next year. And still need 600 to keep the following year.
I have tier points collection year showing as expires 31st March 2025.
My avios account-
I have 123k plus avios, & bronze status.
I'm based in the West of Scotland.
I can travel anytime December and January, apart from Xmas.
Budget not an issue up to a point.
What would you advise I do? Any suggestions for tier point runs to look at?
I have business LHR to GLA booked end of November, plus likely economy LHR to Barbados return end of January for work. Also GLA TO LHR economy booked January.
Then LHR to Singapore February in economy return. So I have some small amounts of tier points coming. But obviously, if I was silver I could use lounges for those economy flights
Many thanks.
220 tier points aren't especially hard to get - and Bronze doesn't get much - you are best to get to Silver as soon as possible. Best way I would suggest is doing a BA holiday from Glasgow to somewhere connecting through London Heathrow in business class - which would get you at least 320 TP (40 TP each leg plus doubled due to tier point offer). This would require hiring a car for 5 days OR booking a hotel for 5 days. A low hassle option would be something like booking GLA-LHR_EDI return with 5 days, hiring a car in Edinburgh, driving it home and then driving it back and flying back 5 days later.
