Again, if Marriott had 5% market share and Hyatt 2%, I'd be cool with it. But in many places, your sole option is a chain hotel--your decision is entirely take-it-or-leave-it, use the program or don't.
Unless your account was shut down, you don't know what information was given. We've only seen a screenshot of the first email announcing the shutdown. Do you know that there was no subsequent communication on why it was shut down? Are those people with shutdown accounts posting here reliable, neutral sources of information? We have yet to hear from a single person who claims to have unknowingly participated in something that resulted in shutdown. So what kind of details were they or you looking for?
