Completely agree. And speaking as someone who once inadvertantly pressed the refund button I am super-careful these days. It's been said before that BA should have policy in place prior to the canx but I suspect if I were BA I'd do it exactly the same way as they have with KUL. Some pax will opt for refund (deliberately or accidentally but generally the public aren't FT readers and may not understand their rights), some pax will be happy with what's offered under the general policy esp if they can see 'gaming' advantages such as tier points/75% downgrade compo and some will, as C-W-S has done their best to encourage, wait until the specific policy is issued. From a selfish point of view, the more pax who have already re-booked mean there's fewer pax to re-book when the policy comes out.
